I pray, Lord, for the emotional, physical, racial,
spiritual, economic, and political healing of our land. I ask you tonight, my Lord and my God, to
eradicate the enemy that would come in to destroy this nation that was
established on Your Word and Your Ways.
I pray, Lord, for the spiritual growth of our
nation. I believe every Word that has
been given to us, Your people, through prophets or Spirit-inspired authors of
the Word of God. Because of that
incredible belief in Your promises, I am awaiting an outpouring of Your Spirit,
as prophesied by Joel.
I am asking for a shaking and an awakening among Your
church, Your bride, Your blood-bought children.
I ask, Oh Lord, that You would remove the scales of selfishness and
shake the chains of busyness and alter the days consumed with tasks so that our
eyes and our ears would be open to the needs of others around us.
I pray that You would forgive us for complacency and
laziness and that You would ignite a fire of worship and prayer and
thanksgiving among Your people. I ask
You to take that fire and use it for Your purpose. I pray that an awakening would hit this
nation like a mighty flood. I ask You to
give us ears to hear and eyes to see that You are God. You stand above every idol and high thing
that we have exalted in this nation.
Humble us to the point that we cannot help but see clearly the Majesty
and the Power with which You reign. Turn
our nation back to You.
I pray that a revival would sweep over the United States
of America with the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit. I pray that not one person in this nation
would be unaffected by the power of that revival. Let not one broken home go without repair. Let not one backslider find himself without
hope. Shake those who have groveled in
self-pity and loose the chains of alcohol, drugs, promiscuity, bitterness,
murder, homosexuality, idolatry, racism, and the like from our nation. I ask You, Lord, to set the captive
free. I pray against the spirits that
have been assigned to our nation with the mission of destroying Your Name and
Your Disciples. “We wrestle not against
flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers
of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the
heavenly places.” NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
WITH YOU!
May the mission remain simple. Yet may it echo from church to church, from
heart to heart. Your instructions are
clear… “GO THEREFORE AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS…”
Father, I pray that we would not forget how merciful and
how kind You have been to us. May we be
just as passionate to see souls saved as You are. Oh God, set the captive free. Sweep over this nation with a Spirit of
repentance that would wash away sins with a fresh tide of holiness. Cause this nation to weep for the wrongs and
the murders of millions of innocent babies.
I pray for surrender to overcome each one who has defied You or cursed
You or questioned You.
Your Word assures us in I John that “if we confess our
sins, (You) are faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from
all unrighteousness.” I pray that this
nation would seek Your forgiveness for the ways in which we have strayed and to
recognize the grace and mercy with which it was founded, established upon Your
Word, and grounded in Your ways.
I am reminded of 2 Chronicles 7:14… “If My people who are
called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn
from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their
sin and heal their land.”
In Your Name, Jesus, I pray all of these things. AMEN.
